India, Vietnam to conduct joint exercises

Once I have paid a lot of attention on Asian affairs. You can see that from my first two weeks blogs. Both of the two articles were about the situation of Asia-Pacific security. Especially the issues concerned with China and its neighboring countries, their attitudes, their movements and their gestures toward territorial disputes and political contest.

At first there were US navy intervened Yellow Sea, South Korea contend with China and North Korea, then there was fierce conflict between China and Japan, and now it is Vietnam and India. In fact as I mentioned in the first week, US had tried to rebuild the relation after the Vietnam war and showed a friendly gesture to Vietnam government, this was taken as a sign for a series of actions US would do to make a chain restrain to confront China’s strategy and accomplishment.
But after that period I drove my focus off the issue, and talked more about other problems like social affairs. But today after I saw the topic of the news, I cannot help to drive my attention back across the whole issue about Asia-Pacific security and peace problem, contests between countries for own benefits. Because my acute feeling on military and politics told me although it was a small piece of news, but its value could not be denied.

India is always trying to content China and get the regional control and leading capacity. One or two years ago India has chosen to cooperate with the US forces to strengthen its own military ability and political power. Then almost half a year ago, Vietnam stood on the same side of America. Now the two countries, India and Vietnam, they stand together, can reveal obviously that their cooperation is not come from no reasons. They have a hidden purpose, that is to restrain China. So now not only Vietnam, India is pursuing building good military relationships with all of the China’s neighbors, like Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, even countries lied not in the south-Asia, for example Japan and South Korea. This is a political game between two Asian giants.

Another guess is that behind India there is US, and behind Vietnam there also is US, both of the two countries, like all the other countries lie in South Asia, East Asia and Southeast Asia, they are just one step of measures of America to encounter with China.

We can see from the news that India was an active performer that it provided the biggest of the cooperation not only including the training of mountain and jungle warfare but also the maintenance of Vietnam navy warships.

At the same time China act a positive willing to establish a regional structure in order to maintain its own strategy and regional peace which is needed urgently by China because its desperate demands on developing economy. All of these made China more dangerous and unsustainable in this situation nowadays.

Have to admit, the news is very small, but its significance is of great power.
